Terms & Conditions
Booking
The cottage is available to rent from Saturday to Saturday between mid January and mid November. Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are available out of season. Contact us directly for Christmas and New Year availability. To book, either use the Book Now page or – if you would prefer to speak to us first – contact us by phone or e-mail to make a provisional booking. Please then follow up with written confirmation and the non-refundable deposit (25% of the rental cost). Details of payment methods ( BACS or Stripe) will be forwarded on booking. Provisional bookings will be held for seven working days. Final payment is due a minimum of six weeks before your holiday starts.
We reserve the right to re-let the cottage if the balance due has not been received by the final due date. We recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover the risk of cancellation. We will always refund rent (less the 25% deposit) if we can re-let the cottage; however, if we can’t, we are not able to make refunds for cancellations within eight weeks of the start of your holiday. We also recommend that you check your own household insurance to make sure any personal belongings and valuables you bring with you are covered while you’re away from home – while Tower Hill Cottage is fully insured, cover of guests’ possessions is not included.
If, for any reason, the cottage was not available on the day of arrival, a full refund would be given. However, we will not be liable to refund any more than the price of the rental.
Arrival and Departure
The cottage is available from 3:00 pm on the day of arrival, and we should be grateful if you could leave the property by 10:00am on the day of departure, in order to give the cleaners sufficient time to clean it before the next guests arrive. Please also move your car, so that they can park!
Contact details for the caretaker, Mac Phumkhonsan, who looks after the keys, will be given to you when final payment has been received.
Parking for one car is available directly opposite the cottage in the space marked with an “11”. Although the space does not legally belong to us, it is rarely used by anyone else. Access is via the narrow lane which runs beside the Farmer’s Arms pub on Goat Street – any large vehicles or 4×4’s may find this difficult, and may prefer to use the ample parking on The Pebbles, only a few yards away.
Our guests are responsible for any breakages and/or damage to the property that may occur during their stay and are responsible for:
- Keeping the house and garden in good condition,
- Making any complaints directly to Mac Phumkhonsan locally, or failing this, to the owner immediately the problem arises, so that it can be solved as quickly as possible.
- Providing the owner or Mac Phumkhonsan with the right of access, if required.
